Hey everybody ,,,
I wrote this topic when I was in my 1st year in the university ...
I was discussing (the mixed marriage for a GCC man) ,, It's when a man from our Gulf countries marrys a forein woman ....
So I wanted to share what I wrote with ya ,, and see what do you think about this subject
:)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is a matter of debate whether a GCC man should marry a foreign woman. Some people argue that if a GCC man marries a foreign woman, he’d get away from a high dowry and the children of this marriage would be more educated because of this mixed marriage. Others disagree. They claim that such a marriage would bring many problems and the children would suffer because these marriages usually do not last. In my opinion, GCC men should think seriously about the problems of marrying a foreign woman. I support the second point of view, so I think that a GCC man should not marry a foreign woman to avoid future problems.
First of all, I would like to give a brief definition of this kind of marriage; a mixed marriage for a GCC man is to marry a foreign woman with a different religion and a different culture. Next, I would like to discuss and give main points about a successful marriage. It’s generally agreed that the goals of a successful marriage are to build a strong family and for the couple to help each other. The LORD GOD said, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him." -Genesis 2:18-. Other goals of marriage to raise healthy children, and form one union built on love and peace. Thus, a GCC man should find a kind of marriage that can maintain these goals. Allah said in the Holy Quran: “030.021” “And among His Signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that ye may dwell in tranquility with them, and He has put love and mercy between your (hearts): verily in that are Signs for those who reflect”.
At first, if a man from any GCC country decides to marry a woman, the first thing he’s going to do is to worry about the dowry which is getting higher and higher in our countries. And that is one of the causes that leads a GCC man to ignore a GCC woman and marry a foreign one! A local study in the UAE has revealed that most UAE national men marry foreign women to avoid the high costs of marrying national woman-1-. However, this is not the solution because many GCC countries have special institutions to help men who are truly aiming to marry a native woman. These institutions are called marriages benevolences. There are many of them in Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries, for example Binbaz’s marriage benevolence in Saudi Arabia-2- and many more. Because of these kinds of institutions, the rate of marrying a foreign woman in Saudi Arabia seems to be less than before and the Saudi Government helps in establishing such institutions.
Some GCC men claim that marrying foreign women helps them to avoid hereditary diseases. In my point of view, this also can be maintained by marrying a GCC woman after doing a medical diagnosis before the marriage to ensure the healthiness if you marry that woman and the healthiness of your future children. These kinds of diagnoses are compulsory in most GCC countries.
Although it is generally agreed that the children of the mixed marriage will learn new كلمة ممنوعةكلمة ممنوعةكلمة ممنوعةكلمة ممنوعةكلمة ممنوعةكلمة ممنوعةكلمة ممنوعةكلمة ممنوعةs and get new cultures, they will be victims at the end. Imagine living with a father who is Muslim and a mother who believes in a different faith and religion. I think the children will be totally lost. Two religions in their mind, two different cultures affecting their life and actions, unstable life as usually happens to those marriages as we hear that a lot of them end with divorces and the lost of the children. In addition to this disadvantage of marrying a foreign woman, let’s think of the society around this kind of family, are they accepted by their relatives? What are they saying about them? And how do they deal with their children? The majority answers for these questions are that most of these marriages are not being accepted by the surrounding relatives or even by the parents of the husband and the foreign wife. Their children will find it difficult to accommodate with their relatives who are in their ages especially if they’re not used to speaking Arabic. Don’t be surprised! Because many GCC men if they marry foreign women, they don’t speak Arabic at all with their children and although the children will grow with Arabic names, they wont be shown as Arabic children because of the effects of their lives. Because of all these problems, the easy solution is to live far away from the GCC country and this is the hardest thing for the children. They will be raised in a foreign country, too.
In the beginning the couples may find these matches successful. Later on, in most of these marriages, the huge gaps between the couples will be shown. At first they may go over these problems and try to fill up these gaps but the majority of couples wouldn’t be able to end these problems. As a result, they would think of an easy way to end their problems and this way would be breaking up and it happens in a huge rate in GCC countries especially UAE because of the increasing of foreign marriages.-3- Currently, the UAE divorce rate is 8.9 per 1,000 marriages, termed the highest in the Arab world. Then, after the divorce, let’s think about the children. They will be lost, who to chose to live with? Their mother or their father? And there will be many questions in their minds.
Nowadays, many GCC countries restrict marriage with foreigners as in Saudi Arabia, where they ban any foreign marriages without official permission and the government has offered many kinds of help to help Saudi men avoid marrying a foreigner in order to avoid future problems and to save the families.
In conclusion, every GCC man wants to live happily in a happy family and have highly educated children surrounded by the love and care of their parents and all this can be measured with a successful marriage. For these reasons, I believe that a GCC man can build a happy family if he marries a GCC woman. He can also have highly-educated children, who can also learn different كلمة ممنوعةكلمة ممنوعةكلمة ممنوعةكلمة ممنوعةكلمة ممنوعةكلمة ممنوعةكلمة ممنوعةكلمة ممنوعةs and reach the successful point in their life. They will –inshalla- live happily together forever.
